What to Bring, and What to Leave Home
A few minutes of sorting keeps your price low and your photos safe. Here’s all you need to know.
- Loose prints, wallet-size up to 8×10″
- Panoramic prints up to 8.5×36″
- Color or black-and-white, glossy or matte
- Backs with handwriting, dates, or notes (we capture those too)
- Photos still in albums, binders, or plastic sleeves
- Anything taped down or stuck to a page
- Prints larger than 8.5″ on the short side
- Slides and negatives (we scan paper prints only, for now)
Please take them out of the album first.
Please take photos out of albums and sleeves before you come. I don’t remove them myself, because that’s when brittle prints crease or tear. Bring loose prints in an envelope or box.
I keep them in order, nearly always.
Photos go through in the order you hand them to me and come home that way. One honest note: a print occasionally slips in the feeder, so I can’t promise perfect order on every last photo.

How We’re Different From Other Scanning Services
